Your talent is needed for the following positions in Paris (France) :
• R&D ENGINEER, SILICON SOLAR CELLS
• R&D ENGINEER, 3rd GENERATION SOLAR CELLS

Within the R&D division, reporting to the head of department »Solar and New
Energies«, and liaising with the other Total units concerned, you will be responsible for:
-
Gathering, analyzing and synthesizing the information and resources needed to elaborate the Solar Cell R&D program (silicon or 3rd generation);

Managing approved projects while meeting technical, budget and deadline targets and handling reporting, especially to Project Committees and the R&D Steering Committee;

Finding ways to leverage R&D results in operating units and providing scientific and technological support;
-
Cooperating with related projects (2nd and 3rd or 1st and 2nd generation solar cells, concentrated solar applications...)

Developing technological benchmarking for the activity and managing external partnerships;

Representing Total in various external organizations.
FINALITY
To pilot the R&D activity of the Branch in the field of solar cells (silicon or 3rd generation – mainly organic) through approved projects, in relationship with the other Group units and with external R&D partners, with the goal of gaining the fundamental knowledge and the expected results (including intellectual property) for further short/mid term operational transfer.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Knowledge of solid state Physics/ Chemistry – semiconductors – combined with mastering of industrial technologies of solar PV. Interest for a R&D position not based in a laboratory. Fluent English and ability to work in a French-speaking environment.

For R&D Engineer, Silicon Solar Cells
PhD in semiconductor Physics, silicon solar cell technologies, including excellent knowledge of electronic structure engineering
developed in the new high performance cell architectures. Industrial or post-doctoral 5 to 10 years R&D experience within silicon solar cells technology. Good operational knowledge of production processes and of analytical methods used in solar cell characterization and qualification.

For R&D Engineer, 3rd Generation Solar Cells
PhD in organic Chemistry, 3rd generation solar cell technologies, with excellent knowledge of advanced semi conducting
polymers and hybrid (organic/inorganic) devices, including relates synthesis/manufacturing methods. Industrial or post-doctoral 5 to 10 years R&D experience within these fields. Good knowledge of fundamental processes (photochemistry,
electrochemical processes, artificial photosynthesis...) and of analytical methods used in related nano sciences and organic semiconductors.
